Should we ask if Supreme Court nominee is gay?

AP-- Being 50, single, and a softball player, many believe that President Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, may be a lesbian. While poll after poll shows that Americans are becoming increasingly accepting of gays and lesbians, it’s an open question whether a person’s sexual orientation should be a topic of discussion when nominating them to the Supreme Court.

MedPage-- Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Beau, recently suffered a stroke at the age of 41. This recent, high-profile incident has highlighted the fact that people of all ages are vulnerable to strokes.

Arizona tourism officials brace for boycott

USA Today-- Tourism officials in Arizona are becoming increasing concerned about the possibility of a huge loss of revenue due to the state’s controversial new immigration law. Phoenix deputy city manager, David Krietor, estimates that the city of Phoenix alone could face $90 million worth of lost business over the next five years.

New York Minorities More Likely to Be Frisked

New York Times-- Records show that of the more than 575,000 stops of people in New York City by police, blacks and Latinos were nine times more likely to be stopped by police than whites. They were not, however, more likely to be arrested.
