Hard times send hotel industry into 'survival mode'

USA Today-- Analysts say that the recession has hit the hotel industry particularly hard, noting that the industry has moved into “survival mode.” Frequent travelers may have noticed that rooms are more run-down with fewer amenities, fewer concierge staff, slower room service, reduced hours at hotel restaurants and bars, etc., all part of an effort to save money and avoid closure.

College on edge after recent wave of student suicides

CNN-- Cornell University, one of the top schools in the US, is on edge after a wave of suicides left students and community members reeling. Police in Ithaca, New York reported four student suicides during the fall 2009 semester and at least two over the past two months.

New Study Suggests Shorter, More Intense Workouts as Effective as Longer, Traditional Endurance Training

CNN-- A new study shows that interval training may not be just for elite athletes anymore. Researchers found that doing 20 minutes of high-intensity training helps increase muscle fitness much like traditional endurance training.
