Hard times send hotel industry into 'survival mode'
USA Today-- Analysts say that the recession has hit the hotel industry particularly hard, noting that the industry has moved into “survival mode.” Frequent travelers may have noticed that rooms are more run-down with fewer amenities, fewer concierge staff, slower room service, reduced hours at hotel restaurants and bars, etc., all part of an effort to save money and avoid closure.March 18, 2010
